Recordings of the Meetings of the Bob Dylan Book Club
We began to record our meetings with our November 2024 meeting (the Bob Dylan Book Club’s first meeting was in August 2023). Be forewarned, our videos are fairly rough and unedited.

December 7th: The Bob Dylan Book Club discusses My Greenwich Village: Dave, Bob, and Me by Terri Thal, with Karen Lievense leading our discussion. RECORDING HERE.
November 16th: The Bob Dylan Book Club discusses What Did You Hear? The Music of Bob Dylan with the author, Steven Rings, with 6 Club members leading the discussion. ALSO NOTE THAT THE RECORDING STARTS AFTER JON LASSER ASKED HIS FIRST QUESTION. THAT QUESTION WAS: “Your book sees change imperfection as a deliberate strategy. Though it may be speculative, why do you think Dylan employs this strategy?” RECORDING HERE
October 17th: Robin Witting interviewed by Peter White (Robin attended the Tarantula meeting on October 12th but could not participate in the discussion due to technical issues, RECORDING HERE.

May 18th: Bob Dylan and William Shakespeare: The True Performing of It RECORDING HERE [Note: after the meeting Andrew Muir pointed out that he had mispoken—He mentioned Just Like Tom Thumb’s Blues but then went on to talk about “strike another match, go start anew” (a line from It’s All Over Now, Baby Blue) and he talked about Shakespeare’s Sonnet 100 being alluded to on a “Love and Theft” song whereas it was alluded to in “Crossing the Rubicon” from Rough and Rowdy Ways. Muir also reports that when he taked on a version of Desolation Row from 1992, this thoughts derived from two different performances of Desolation that were from two different years.]
